This little gadget has become one of THE best items I've ever purchased. I've seen and noticed a big difference in my skin.

Combined with the Philosophy Purity Made Simple. I've always had an issue with my skin and it's been a huge problem with my confidence. I wish I had perfect skin. When I see people, the first thing I notice is their skin and I always worry that people are noticing mine. It's always been a major concern for me. After I started using this amazing gadget... I've noticed a big difference. The blackheads that took up residence on my nose are gradually disappearing and my skins looking a little clearer. I know I have a long way to go to repair the damage I've caused my skin but I'm getting there. I spent years and years going to bed with make up on or days without cleansing my skin. So I have my work cut out for me.

This is by far the best kitchen gadget!! My dad even started using it :)

I had originally bought one from Khols but ended up taking it back because I saw on QVC they had a nicer one with accessories for a little bit more. It came with a filter that way I can use regular coffee grounds along with the K-Cups. The other Keurig only had 3 size up to 8 OZ and this one has 5 up to 12 OZ. That was my main concern because I usually have about 12 OZ every morning. Depending on the morning ;) 

This one also has an option for just hot water. So if I'm using my regular tea bags I can brew up the water for a lovely cup of tea. Easy Peasy!! 

My most recent excursion to Sephora and MAC last Saturday. A few goodies I picked up. =)

DON'T JUDGE ME!! I've spent many many years buying make up from different drug stores, Target or Walmart and now I can afford the better stuff. So... I'm taking full advantage of it!! Obviously. Lol. 

I've just come to realize that the make up I've purchased in the past just don't compare to items from Sephora or MAC.

Monterey 08/2012

My mom and I got away to Monterey this weekend. We had a wonderful time even though I wasn't feeling that great. Here are a few photos =)

I needed this trip. I was sorta able to clear my head. Sorta... I just wish I was feeling a little better. I have no idea what was wrong. I just felt really dizzy.

We went on the glass bottom boat tour which was really neat!! Next time were going to go sailing =)

You spin me right round....

I’m starting to wonder if it’s just me… or am I the only one that gets nauseous when I think about being in a relationship?? Probably not.

Weird, right??

My last relationship was just a disaster and pretty much left me an empty shell. In the beginning he was so sweet and caring but slowly took a turn for the worse when his true colors began to shine through the mask of bullsh*t. That boy had it buried good and deep under all that mess. I realized at the end (when I packed up all his things and had them waiting by the door) that since day one it was all a lie. How could I have been so blind?? I, being the one who never WANTED to be in a relationship fell pretty hard for a character whom I would put in the same category as Charles Manson. Lol. Why?? Oh because they’re both equally good at manipulating people.

Anyways. Moving on.

People ask me why I’m still single. Oh… why?? You ask. Because in this day and age you can’t trust people. Even the most respected and trustworthy people let you down. It’s so easy to hide behind a mask and pretend you’re something you’re absolutely not. Society has made it too easy. I could pretend I’m some super model living in Paris if I really wanted to. Hmmmm….

J/K!!

I’m just afraid of putting myself back out there and getting hurt. Sure, people may say… you’ll never know until you try!! Trust (there’s that word again) me!! I know. I’m overweight and don’t take no ones BS anymore. …And I wonder why I don’t have them literately BEATING the doors down.  Lol. Some may say I'm bitter... but I'm really not. There's a difference from being bitter to just being OVER IT. <3

*Sigh* My most recent Sephora adventure. I'd returned several items and ended up owing them $43 extra. It's an addiction I can live with tho... 

This little critter has my heart. She's the sweetest little thing I've ever laid eyes on. I can't express how much I absolutely adore her. She's been a lifesaver. <3

Things That Make My Life Easier...

The Keurig. 

I actually got an excellent deal on my Keurig from Khols last Friday. It's been one of THE best kitchen devices I've ever purchased. 

I've actually purchased the Keurig Premium Plus Brewing System from QVC this afternoon. I'm paying just a little bit more but getting a nicer machine. Once it arrives in the mail, I'll return this one. In the meantime.... I'm reaping it's benefits!! 

I do love this one but I'd much prefer to have the options of a bigger cup of coffee or tea. 9 oz. just isn't enough, to be honest. 

I know they're not cheap.... but in my honest opinion they're completely worth every penny. I can't tell you how many times I've wasted pot after pot of coffee just because I couldn't drink it all. Also, I could never get the flavor right. It was either too weak or too strong. This way it's just perfect. =) 

Money well spent!! 

Daily Facial Routine

It's been years (give or take) in the making and I think I've finally figured out my daily facial routine. My skin is so temperamental that it seemed like any and all products  would irritate or just not do what I wanted it to. 

My last post goes on about my recent Sephora binge (teehee) and, without sounding like a brand snob, it was all in the products I was using. 

Typically, I purchased my products from either Target, Walmart or wherever and it just wasn't the right fit. I was either too oily, too dry or too caked. I would literally sit in front of my mirror and want to cry!! I've always had a major issue with my skin. Though... I've never had to deal with acne or anything like that and I consider myself truly blessed. 

The gal at Sephora pointed me in the direction of Peter Thomas Roth facial cleanser and the 

Ultimate Dual Exfoliating Face Brush. With the first couple of uses, it seemed to work pretty good. My face felt clean and refreshed. Then after a few more uses my skin felt tight, dry and I sprouted a few dry flakey patches. Fabulous!! She also didn't recommend any daily moisturizer and I honestly think that would have made a different. 

 So back to the drawing board. I also found out my skin type is in the normal to dry range.

Back to Sephora I go!! (Not that I'm complaining)

In the mean time I'm starting to dabble in various foundations. I purchased some Bare Escentuals as well as NARS Powder Foundation along with the liquid and Primer. The gal helping me swears by NARS so I figured I'd give it a try. Her face was flawless and all one color. Exactly what I want. It's been a few months since using it and I'm a little disappointed because I'm not seeing the results I was hoping for.  When I use the NARS Primer, NARS Sheer Glow Liquid and NARS Powder Foundation my skin doesn't look flawless and smooth. With the uneven skintone, dark spots and weird bumps it just makes the make up look cheap and uneven.

As I type this I'm close to tears because it's so frustrating. With all the money I've spent on products and the trial and errors, I just can't seem to get it right. I even forked over $240 for a Clairsonic Plus (which has been wonderful, but not giving me the results I'm hoping for). Maybe my expectations are too high... but I just want clear, even toned and semi-flawless skin. 

As of right now my facial routine is: 

Morning - 

1. Philosophy Purity Made Simple (either used with Clairsonic or fingers)

2.  Clairsonic Plus

3. Clarins HydraQuinch for Normal to Dry skin (on usual dry spots)

Evening - 
1. Say Yes to Blueberries Facial Towelettes (to remove make up, etc.)
2. Philosophy Purity Made Simple
3. Clairsonic Plus
4. Clarins HydraQuinch for Normal to Dry skin  (Applied all over right before bed)

Hopefully with this system I can get my results close to my expectations. Ever since I started wearing make up (probably around 13-14) I never really took great care of my skin. Which, I'm paying for it in the long run. I've come to realize the most important thing to do is to remove ALL make up and cleanse the skin before bed. I was in a horrible habit of not doing so. 

So... we shall see!! :)
