My Shopping List

Well, I've seen a variety of shopping list templates done and I figured I'd make one too and share!!

I love the idea of having it sectioned into different categories. Why I've never thought of this before is beyond me!! When I'd write out a list I'd write things down as they came to me.

1. chicken
2. cucumbers
3. noodles
4. mustard...
and so on!!

I'd be going back and forth in the grocery store trying to get everything I'd missed. This is much simpler!! It's silly how something SO ingenious wasn't thought of before.

Anyways... here's a little something I typed up!! Hope it's helpful.

Adventures of a Shop-Alcoholic...

What happens to me when I walk into a store and find pretty things I need want?? I blackout and upon walking out of the store, I realize I'm holding numerous bags of pretty things. Yesterday I browsed through Ross a bit... and once I hit the purse section, I turned into a completely different person. I spotted a Micheal Kors bag and pounced. C'mon!! Micheal Kors... at Ross?? WHO KNEW?!?! Before I knew it, it was riding around with me while I browsed. Didn't even flinch. IT WAS MINE!! Oh... and the Steve Madden bag was mine as well. *Sigh* I can't help myself!! I need to overcome this hobby addiction. Regular $228 for $115? What a steal!!

After much thought... I've decided to return it. It's an amazing deal but I just can't budget those kind of splurges. I've been trying to save my money more and I've been doing much better. This for sure sets me back. Which... makes me sad as I've already bonded with the purse. Oh well... it's for the best... I have to keep telling myself that. Lol.

Anyways... just another one of those things I need to take care of!! :)

Adventures in Yard Sales!!

Today was the first time I've gone to yard sales in a long time. As a kid my grandmother, grandpa, brother and myself would always go first thing Saturday morning. It was so much fun!! It was neat finding all kinds of random treasures. At times I would be embarrassed because I thought poor people went to yard sales. As a kid, I didn't understand. Looking back, going with my grandma, it was one of my fondest memories. She would supply us with a small coin purse full of $1 bills and tons of quarters. We would come back to her house and sit around and look through all the things we got!! I miss those times.

I now realize it's such a wonderful thing when you're searching for pieces of furniture to redo. You can spend little money and put a little money into the pieces and turn them into something priceless!! I'm excited!! I think I'm going to start going with them each weekend to spend time with them and find some furniture for my future home!

Today I found two really nice lamps. My boss's daughter had a yard sale and she has amazing style!! I didn't want to pass it up. I bought two REALLY nice lamps. One was a super heavy crystal lamp and an Eiffel Tower lamp, kinda like the one Kristie bought for my birthday 2 years ago. A really cute mint color mug, a tall candle pedestal holder, a decorative plate and a couple decorative knickknacks. We didn't get started until after 7 and by then everything had pretty much been picked through. Even still... I got some real nice items. Had we got started earlier we would have made out like bandits!!

In the future, I'm going to look for the big ticket items, like furniture. Things I'll need for my future abode!!

I should have taken pictures of my finds!! But they've been taken to my grandmas to my storage. I've been stockpiling items until I can find a place.

It's an adventure!!

Just a couple of pics!!

My baby Lou!! I came home from work one day and she wouldn't leave my side. She ended up falling asleep on my shoulder. She's so precious!!

Some delicious creamy garlic chicken with bow tie noodles, brussels and sun-dried tomatoes. Very delicious!!

So... I got this pretzel from Starbucks, I'd asked for a 'regular' pretzel and this is what I found. It COMPLETELY freaked me out. What are these seeds?!?! Read the label and it's a Dijon Pretzel. Yuck!!

Went a little overboard at Bath and Body Works. I didn't realize Fall is just around the corner!! I'm so excited. I practically squeaked when I saw all the amazing Fall smells out. I sniffed darn near everything!! Leaves is my all time fave!!

A couple of my favorites:
Leaves - Ugh!! This is what Fall smells to me :)
Sexy Dahlia Rush (Non-Fall related but AMAZING)
Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin - I wanted to bite the candle
Eucalyptus Spearmint - Such a soothing and relaxing scent.

<3

I've been struggling to realize this. Looking back I've come to realize that everything I have has been a gift. Even when I was struggling and couldn't see the light at the end of the tunnel. I've been blessed with everything I have. A great job that I enjoy, a loving family and all the other little things.

I'm truly blessed :)

Monterey 07/28/2013

When life's a beach you head to the beach!! (Super cheesy) Lol.

Well, mom and I decided to take an impromptu trip to Monterey on Sunday and Lilly got to go! She wasn't too thrilled about the car ride but we had a wonderful time!!

Made a quick pit stop at Casa De Fruta to use the facilities and see some ducks!

Ahh!! Monterey!! It seriously doesn't get much better than this. My heart is happy when I'm here!! I would give anything to call this home. We stopped at the Monterey Warf to walk around a bit and grab some of the famous clam chowder from the Fishermans Grotto. EVERYONE wanted to pet Lilly. I'm not too sure she was into that either. She sure didn't appreciate walking above water on the warf but all in all I think she liked it.

We drove aways past Monterey and Cannery Row and parked to have lunch. Rolled the windows down and listened to the waves while we enjoyed the warm soup. It was Heavenly!! Just what we needed.

After we ate we walked around for a while. Lilly was trying to figure everything out. She wasn't too sure about the large amount of water making lots of noise and trying to get her wet. It was adorable watching her running all over the place.

Simply amazing!! <3

Taking a break from runnin around in the sand!

On our way home, we decided to stop in Moss Landing. A very small town located a little ways past Monterey. Their beach is wonderful! It's never crowded. We walked around for awhile. Lilly barked at every single bird she saw and barked at the waves. When we'd get to close to the water she's go nuts! I'm sure she was trying to warn us not to go to close.

I never ever wanted to leave!! There's nothing like sitting by the beach and just listen. Press pause and listen to the waves. It's like hitting the reset button.

This is something I really need to remember...

There's so much negativity swirling around this world that it's very important to keep positive. It's so easy to slip...
